About the game

What you do in a play session

Gather your fellowship, because the journey now leads to the dark, half-sunken depths of Belegost! In 'The Ruins of Belegost', you and your companions dive into the ruins of an ancient Dwarven city in search of forgotten treasures and artifacts of immense power. But be warned: the silence of the ruins is deceptive, and an evil presence is stalking you from the shadows, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. This scenario was originally introduced at the GenCon 2015 Fellowship Event and brings all the tension characteristic of The Lord of the Rings LCG.

The game maintains its cooperative essence where synergy between heroes is the key to survival. You'll need impeccable hand management and sharp strategy to handle the dangerous encounters that emerge as you explore the city. A great feature is the difficulty flexibility: if you just want to enjoy the story without too much struggle, the easy mode allows you to remove specific cards from the encounter deck and gives your heroes a little extra boost in starting resources. For those who love to feel the weight of despair and the pressure of combat, the normal mode is the way to go.

Keep in mind that, as a narrative-driven card scenario, there is high language dependency. If you aren't fluent in English, you'll need a translation to fully appreciate every detail of the plot. It's the perfect experience for those who already own the base game and want to expand their adventures in Middle-earth, facing the echoes of Thangorodrim's destruction in a claustrophobic and challenging environment. Will your group escape with the treasures, or will you become just another echo in the ruins of Belegost?
