Step by step

Game Objective

The objective of the game is to accumulate victory points, which can be purchased during the game. Players try to move their droplets to the right in the test tubes to decrease the purchase cost of victory points, making them easier to earn.

Preparation (Setup)

  1. Place the test tube rack (which consists of 2 parts) in the middle of the table.
  2. Place a droplet of each player's color in the leftmost test tube.
  3. This expansion can only be played using the front of the cauldrons.

Game Flow

Refer to the manual for details on this section.

Actions and How to Play

Moving the Droplets

Every time you move a droplet forward during the game (either due to a fortune teller card, or by paying 2 rubies), you can decide which of your two droplets you want to move forward:

  • The droplet in the cauldron.
  • The droplet in the test tubes in the middle of the table.

If you decide to move the droplet in the test tubes, you move it one space to the right. This makes it easier to earn victory points.

Buying Victory Points

Players can buy victory points during the game as if they were ingredients.

The price for purchasing victory points is determined by the position of the droplet in the test tubes:

  • At the beginning of the game, when the droplet has not yet been moved forward, a victory point costs 12 money.
  • If a player has moved their droplet to the last test tube, a victory point costs only 2 money.

A player can buy any number of victory points during a round, as long as they have enough money.

End of Game and Scoring

At the end of the game, all players empty their bags and count all the numbers on their tokens (including the white tokens).

The total value of the tokens must be divided by the value you reached with your droplet. For example, if the droplet is still in the starting space, the total value is divided by 15.

Tips for Winning

  1. Moving your droplet in the test tubes to the right makes it easier to earn victory points, as it decreases the purchase cost.
  2. Buying victory points during the game, when the cost is lower, can be an effective strategy to accumulate more points.
