About the game
What you do in a play session
Get ready to take flight with The Rocketeer: Fate of the Future, a thrilling two-player duel that drops you right into the skies above Los Angeles! On one side, you have the titular hero, the Rocketeer, with his revolutionary jetpack, trying to prevent the blueprints from falling into the wrong hands. On the other, the villain Neville Sinclair, a Hollywood actor with dark ambitions, wants to use this technology for warfare. It's a race against time and your opponent to define the future!
The game unfolds over several rounds where each player controls three characters (either the heroes or the villains), taking turns to perform actions. On your turn, you choose a character who hasn't acted yet and decide what they will do. Actions are guided by cards in your hand, and each card has a symbol that must match the character's to be played. Options include moving across the board, engaging in combat (Tussle), gaining resources (Grit), advancing the rocket token (for heroes), or recruiting soldiers (for villains).
At the end of each round, after all characters have acted, players score points based on control of different city locations. The game continues until a sinister zeppelin, the Luxembourg Zeppelin, arrives in Los Angeles, marking the start of the final round. Who will perform best and decide the fate of the future? With a blend of hand management, tactical decision-making, and a vibrant dieselpunk theme, this game promises action and strategy in equal measure.
