Game Objective

You are an astronomer seeking renown by locating Planet X and presenting correct theories about the location of other objects in the solar system. The player who makes the most contributions to this astronomical investigation will score the most points and win the game!

Setup

  1. Choose the game mode: Normal (12 sectors) or Expert (18 sectors).
  2. Assemble the solar system board and place the Earth board on top of it, aligning the icons.
  3. Each player chooses a color and receives a pawn, a note sheet, a pencil, and a screen.
  4. Download the app and generate a game code. All players must enter this code on their devices.
  5. Receive initial information from the app and write it down on your sheet.

The Game Turn

On your turn, choose one of four actions:

  • Search for an Object: Choose an object type and a range of sectors in the observable sky. The app reveals how many objects of that type are in that range.
  • Probe a Sector: Choose a sector in the observable sky. The app reveals which object is in that sector or if it appears empty.
  • Research a Topic: Choose a research topic. The app reveals a logical rule that applies to this game.
  • Locate Planet X: Choose the sector where you believe Planet X is located and select the objects in adjacent sectors. The app reveals whether you were correct or incorrect.

After performing the action, move your pawn on the time track according to the time cost of the chosen action. Rotate the Earth board if necessary.

End of Game and Scoring

The game ends when a player discovers the location of Planet X. Players score points for:

  • Correct theories presented
  • Leadership bonus for being the first to present a correct theory about a sector
  • Discovery of Planet X

The player with the most points wins the game.

Tips for Winning

  1. Pay attention to the initial information and the results of actions to make logical deductions.
  2. Try to keep your pawns behind on the time track to have more scoring opportunities.
  3. Use the congress and theory phases to gain additional information and score points.
