About the game
What you do in a play session
Ticket to Ride Map Collection 2 adds two fresh maps to the beloved Ticket to Ride family: India and Switzerland. Each map comes on a double‑sided board, ready to sit on the table for 2‑4 players (the Swiss board caps at 3). The India side, designed by Ian Vincent, introduces two extra ways to score beyond the classic route claims. The player with the longest continuous train path earns a 10‑point bonus, and anyone who connects the cities on a ticket using two distinct routes gets extra points: the first two such tickets grant 5 points each, the next three grant 10 points each, for a possible 40‑point bonus. The Switzerland side, a reprint of the 2007 edition, features tickets that link cities to neighboring countries or to the whole Swiss region, rewarding the player with the highest applicable value for that ticket. A quirk: discarded tickets are removed from the game instead of being reshuffled, and locomotives may only be used to build tunnels. The core gameplay—hand management, route building, and set collection—remains unchanged, but each map’s unique scoring twists give a fresh flavor to each session. Components are sturdy, destination cards showcase local artwork, and the compact double‑sided board stores easily. In about 30‑60 minutes you’ll be laying tracks, battling for the longest line, and experiencing two distinct cultures, all without leaving your living room. Perfect for fans of Ticket to Ride who want new scenery without learning a whole new system.
