About the game

What you do in a play session

Timeline: Discoveries is a lightweight card game that spreads 110 discovery cards on the table and challenges you to build a correct chronological line. Each card shows an invention or scientific breakthrough on both sides, but only one side displays the year. On your turn you pick a card from your hand, place it in the line and reveal the date. If the date fits between the already‑played cards, the card stays; otherwise it is removed, and you draw a new one. The goal is straightforward: be the first to empty your hand by correctly placing all your cards. If several players finish in the same round, they each get one extra card and play a bonus round until only one player has no cards left. A typical game lasts about 15 minutes, supports 2–8 players, and has a low weight (1.2/5), making it perfect for quick sessions or as a warm‑up. Besides being fun, it works as an educational tool, as each card carries a historical‑scientific fact that can spark conversation. The components come in a sturdy metal tin, protecting the cards and giving it a collector’s feel. All Timeline editions are compatible, so you can mix cards from "General Interest", "Inventions" or "Music & Cinema" to create a mega‑timeline. In short, it’s an ordering game that blends trivia, learning, and social interaction, ideal for families, parties, or friends who enjoy a light mental challenge.
