About the game

What you do in a play session

A mysterious wanderer arrives in Magoria, adding a fresh layer of sorcery to the already intricate world of Trickerion. The Arcanist, a roaming master of forgotten arts, roams between Downtown, Market Row and Dark Alley, and wherever he stops, a set of Arcane Actions opens up, reshaping how magicians prepare and perform their tricks. In addition to the usual human workers, players can now recruit four Supernatural Workers – the Specter, Golem, Trickster and Shapeshifter – each with unique abilities and special assignment rules that demand careful planning to maximise their impact.

The headline innovation is Enchantments, a new mechanic that lets you permanently modify a trick, granting a bonus every time the trick is performed. Instead of owning physical components, you spend Enchantments to gain lasting magical effects, deepening the customisation of your shows. At the same time, Arcane Shards appear as an advanced resource, similar to regular Trickerion Shards but offering higher action efficiency, even during the Theater phase.

Mechanically, the expansion retains the action‑point economy while introducing a more dynamic action queue and simultaneous action selection, heightening the tension of decision‑making. Tile placement remains crucial for building the stage, and worker placement – now including the supernatural beings – stays the strategic backbone.

With a playtime ranging from 60 to 180 minutes, Trickerion: Arcane Arts accommodates 1‑4 players, supporting solo and competitive multiplayer sessions. Its 4.4 BGG weight signals a medium‑high complexity, perfect for those who have mastered the core game and crave fresh challenges. Overall, the expansion delivers a more dynamic, customizable, and magically rich experience that integrates seamlessly with the base game and its other expansions.
