Trickerion: Dawn of Technology brings two modules that will turbo‑charge your wizardry experience: the Contraptions and Signature Tricks. Each wizard can build up to four Contraptions in their workshop, each more powerful than the last. You pay 1 coin per existing Contraption to activate it, and you can use it at any point in your turn by turning it to its inactive side. For instance, the Generator Contraption powers your city and nets you a steady income. At round’s end, if enough shards are adjacent, a Contraption can be re‑activated for the next turn, and using the top‑tier Contraption earns you extra fame. The Contraptions module contains 16 pieces, 4 unique illustrations, and 4 board extensions. The Signature Tricks module lets you swap a regular trick for an epic version, provided you meet its fame threshold. When you learn a Signature Trick, the standard version is removed from the deck, and if an opponent already has the standard version, your Signature Trick no longer has a fame threshold. These higher‑level tricks require Contraptions to function but offer better numbers and special powers – e.g., the Legendary Shark Tank lets you freely align its markers in the theater, making link creation easier. The expansion can be bought separately or as part of the Collector’s Edition and is available on the publisher’s website. In short, if you love strategy games with plenty of interaction, resources, and a dash of magical tech, Dawn of Technology is a worthwhile upgrade.
