In Tyrants of the Underdark, get ready to descend into the depths of Faerûn and lead a Drow house in its relentless quest for dominion over the Underdark! This game, combining territory control with deck-building, puts you in command of one of the noble (and not-so-noble) Drow families, each represented by a starting deck of minions. Each minion has one of five Drow society specialties, and these specialties dictate your strategies: malice minions are masters at assassinating enemy troops, while ambition minions are excellent at recruiting more minions and promoting them to your 'inner circle,' a special area that increases their value at the end of the game.
Each game, you build an 80-card deck by shuffling two of the four available thematic half-decks – Drow, Dragons, Demons, and Elementals – which ensures insane replayability! During the game, you use influence to recruit new minions from a central marketplace, which go to your discard pile and eventually into your deck. Power, the other vital resource, allows you to place troops on the game board, expand your dominion across the Underdark map, manipulate events, and, of course, assassinate your rivals' troops.
Victory points are earned by controlling sites, recruiting powerful minions, promoting them to your inner circle, and eliminating enemy forces. Whoever has the most points at the end is crowned the true tyrant of the Underdark! It's a strategic and challenging experience in the D&D universe, where cunning and brutality are your best allies.
