About the game
In 'Vampire: The Masquerade – Heritage', you step into the shoes of an ancient vampire, shaping seven hundred years of both human and vampiric history. Your journey involves seeking ancient secrets, all while striving to evade the Inquisition and cling to whatever remains of your humanity. This is a fast-paced legacy game where, in each session, players gather characters from a common pool for their bloodlines. These characters are crucial for influencing various vampiric 'battlegrounds' and fulfilling history-based missions. For instance, a noble warrior might support Joan of Arc in ending the siege of Orleans, simultaneously shifting the balance of internal vampiric power struggles or drawing unwanted attention from the Inquisition. Beyond collecting characters, players can utilize unique intrigue cards from their chosen clan, altering game rules in ways that align with that clan's character. After each individual game, your achievements are recorded on a timeline, which chronicles your actions throughout the seven hundred years and influences the campaign's final outcome. A really cool mechanic allows you to permanently turn mortals into vampires: simply remove the card from its sleeve and flip it, revealing its vampiric side, new abilities, and a name. These cards return to the common pool and can be further enhanced in future games – and yes, they come pre-sleeved for that surprise factor! Players thus progress through history, unlocking new challenges, characters, and rewards. The seven hundred years culminate in an epic conclusion, where you and your allies scramble to unravel ancient mysteries using the clues, allies, and power you've amassed.
