Votes for Women is a card-driven game that immerses you in the heart of the American women's suffrage movement from 1848 to 1920. Instead of simple card battles, you command campaigns, organize states, and try to convince Congress to approve the Nineteenth Amendment. The game unfolds over six turns, each representing historical periods: 1848‑1890, 1890‑1919, and 1919‑1920, when the amendment is in final vote. Each player receives a personal deck and, each turn, must draw cards, bid on strategy cards, and then play event cards or discard to campaign, organize, or lobby. The suffragist’s goal is to get 36 of the 48 states to ratify the amendment, while the opposition player (or the Oppo‑Bot in cooperative/solitaire modes) tries to block approval or get 13 states to reject it. If Congress proposes the amendment but no ratification or rejection threshold is met, the game moves to the final voting phase.
