About the game

What you do in a play session

Warhammer Underworlds: Nightvault offers a fast‑paced tactical duel lasting 30 to 60 minutes, ideal for fans of miniatures and cards. Each player picks a warband – the box includes Stormcast Eternals and Nighthaunt – and builds a deck of power and objective cards. The modular hex board runs three action phases, during which you spend action points to move, attack, or trigger abilities. Hand management and timing of card play are vital, because simply destroying the opponent's warband doesn’t guarantee victory; you must capture objectives, hold key positions, and earn glory points. The game blends dice rolling, area influence, and variable player powers, delivering quick yet deep tactical choices. Inside the box you’ll find push‑fit miniatures, two double‑sided boards, pre‑built decks, objective tokens, glory point tokens, attack, defence and magic dice, an 8‑page quick‑start guide and a 32‑page rulebook covering advanced rules, competitive modes and even multiplayer options when two core sets are combined. The components are well produced, with colourful plastic minis and clear tokens that snap together without glue. Nightvault’s narrative follows the fallen city of Shadespire, where restless spirits break free from the Nightvault to haunt the living. The learning curve is gentle; after a few games the flow feels natural and you’ll want a rematch right away. Perfect for casual duels or quick tournaments, but it does require two players and a modest amount of table space.
