The goal is to be the first to finish the monument, earning points for each completed phase and, at the end, for having built the largest and most impressive monument. The game uses Set Collection mechanics, where each phase of the monument corresponds to a set of cards that players must gather. The cards are dealt from an open market, and the order in which each player picks a card determines who receives the building block for that phase.
