About the game

What you do in a play session

Yaxha is an abstract strategy game where you recreate Mayan pyramids, block by block, while competing for resources in a dynamic market. Each game starts with a market of colorful tiles and bonus cards that set extra objectives. Every round, players simultaneously choose which market to claim, creating a mini-auction where turn order can be a game-changer. The challenge? Building your pyramid under strict rules: blocks must touch others of the same color, and you can only advance to higher layers when the foundation is solid. At the end, points are awarded for the largest visible groups of each color and for completing bonus cards. The player who builds the most strategic pyramid wins! The game is quick (around 20 minutes) and perfect for fans of fast decisions with a touch of controlled chaos.

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers before you buy

5 questions
How many players can play?
2 to 4 players. Works well at all counts, but with 4 it gets more chaotic and fun.
How long does a game take?
About 20 minutes. It's a quick game, perfect for a pre-dinner match or between heavier games.
Is it hard to learn?
Nope! Rules are simple, but strategic decisions run deep. Even beginners will get the hang of it quickly.
Does it need a lot of table space?
Not much. Each player needs space for a small pyramid (4x4 blocks at the base) and the market sits in the center.
Is it good for theme lovers?
If you dig the Mayan theme, you'll enjoy the visuals, but the focus is on abstract strategy. The theme is a bonus.
