About the game
What you do in a play session
Zombie Plague is a 2001 board game that pits humans against the undead in a fast‑paced, team‑based showdown. One side plays the survivors, tasked with sealing every door and window, scavenging the house for useful items, and ultimately finding the car key to escape. The opposite side controls the zombies, whose sole mission is to bite and eat every human. Humans receive four action points each turn, which can be spent on moving, turning, shooting, searching, using or swapping items, and placing barricades. Zombies have two action points to move, turn, or bite. The game is distributed as a Print‑and‑Play package: print one of three maps, the event and item decks, and assemble paper standees for characters and zombies. Standard six‑sided dice (or a custom nine‑sided set) resolve rolls. Event cards add chaos, such as “Scream like a girl” that forces all zombies to turn toward the scream, or “I like this song” which compels zombies to move toward the source. The rulebook offers three variants—a traitor mode, a short‑game option, and a 28‑day campaign—to boost replay value. A typical game lasts about an hour, supports 2‑6 players aged 10+, and requires only 20‑30 printed sheets, making it cheap to produce. Simple rules and dynamic play make it a great fit for anyone who loves building their own board and diving into a makeshift zombie apocalypse.
