In 011, an alternate 19th‑century world, the city of Turin hides the Inscrutable Organ of Eternity, the only weapon against the impending Ragnarök. Fenrir, Loki’s son, awakens and threatens to destroy the world. Eight characters, each with their own backstory and abilities, carry the fate of humanity. Only one of them is the "Chosen One" who can play the Song of Creation on the organ, while another may be possessed by Fenrir’s spirit and will try to stop the Chosen One.
The game’s clever design splits each turn into 11 "Hours" (rounds). Each hour contains five phases: 1) reveal an event, 2) an auction to determine action order, 3) place clues on the map, 4) move and act with the characters, and 5) play location tiles. The phase order varies each hour, requiring players to constantly adapt. The auction for action order adds strategic tension, as the player who offers the most action points gains initiative. Each player’s unique powers add layers of strategy and customization.
The goal is simple but not easy: deliver the Chosen One and the Song of Creation to the organ before the clock reaches XII. If the count passes the twelfth hour, everyone loses. Every decision matters, and the pressure mounts with each passing hour.
The components are robust: eight character miniatures, a detailed map of Turin, clue tokens, location tiles, auction tokens, and a Ragnarök clock. The artwork blends steampunk aesthetics with heavy‑metal music references, creating a unique and immersive setting.
011 is ideal for fans of epic stories, deduction, and auction mechanics. The learning curve is moderate, but the game offers strategic depth for seasoned players. If you enjoy mythological narratives combined with a musical and steam‑powered twist, 011 is worth checking out.
