18CZ is the Czech edition of the classic 18xx series, but with a twist of complexity that only true railway fans will appreciate. Instead of merely laying tracks, you buy and sell shares in up to fifteen companies, each with a more varied share distribution than the standard 18xx. Small companies have 50%‑25%‑25%, medium ones 40%‑20%‑20%‑20%, and large ones 20%‑10%‑10%‑10%‑10%‑10%‑10%‑10%‑10%. This means strategy changes with company size: large companies can absorb smaller ones, while small ones must be more aggressive in the stock market. The player holding the largest stake in a company becomes its president, giving them the power to lay tracks, choose routes and buy trains. Trains are the source of income: each run pays money that can be divided among shareholders or reinvested in the company to buy better trains or more tracks. The ultimate goal is to accumulate the most wealth in cash and shares, not just have the prettiest network. The game supports 2 to 6 players, lasts about 250 minutes, and is heavy on rules, but the payoff is a financial simulation that will test your patience and strategic vision. If you love railway games that require financial planning and market control, 18CZ is an experience that will keep you glued to the table for hours.
