About the game
What you do in a play session
1844/1854 is a dual game exploring the railway history of Switzerland and Austria, based on the classic 18xx system. In the Swiss version (1844), you manage local companies that merged to form SBB, plus historical railroads, with different strategies for each. Connecting destination stations is key to securing capital. The Austrian version (1854) features a unique stock split mechanic that shakes up the market. Both games include mountain railways, tunnels, private companies, and two locomotive types, delivering a deep, complex experience. There’s even an extra board for Austria’s Steyr region! Brace for 5 hours of intense rail strategy where every financial and logistical decision matters.
