Step by step
Game Objective
The Wild Cards expansion for Take 6! introduces special cards that change the dynamics of the rows. The main goal remains the same: avoid picking up cards from the rows by placing the sixth card in one of them. With Wild Cards, players can manipulate the game order and card values for more complex strategies.
Setup
- Shuffle the 10 Wild Cards and deal one face-down to each player.
- Mix the remaining Wild Cards into the main deck.
- Shuffle the complete deck and deal 10 cards to each player (as in the original rules).
- Each player now has 11 cards in hand (10 from the deck + 1 initial Wild Card).
Game Flow
All base game rules remain valid, with the following modifications:
- Wild Cards are considered the lowest value, so whoever plays them acts first.
- If multiple players choose Wild Cards in the same round, the one with the lowest value plays first.
- Placing a Wild Card directly next to another is not allowed.
Actions and How to Play
The main actions with Wild Cards are:
- Place a Wild Card: The player chooses a row and places the Wild Card at the end. Its value becomes the sum of the last card in the row + the Wild Card value (e.g., if the last card is 17 and the Wild Card is 0.4, the new value will be 17.4).
- Use a Wild Card to pick up a row: If a player chooses a Wild Card and all rows end with a Wild Card, they must pick up a row. The Wild Card becomes the first card of the new row.
- Play numbered cards: The "ascending order" and "smallest difference" rules apply normally, even next to Wild Cards.
End of Game and Scoring
The game ends when a player places the sixth card in a row, forcing another player to pick up the five previous cards. Scoring follows the base game rules, counting picked-up cards as negative points. The player with the fewest negative points wins.
Tips to Win
- Use Wild Cards to force players to pick up rows or manipulate the game order in your favor.
- Avoid placing Wild Cards in rows that are close to completing six cards, so you don't have to pick them up later.
