Get ready for a fun and twisty numerical challenge in Take 5, also known as 6 nimmt! (and many other names out there!). The goal is simple, yet deceptively difficult: accumulate the fewest possible points. How does it work? The 104 numbered cards are shuffled, four are dealt face-up to start four rows on the table, and each player receives ten cards. Each round, everyone simultaneously chooses a card from their hand and reveals it. The trick is that cards are added to the rows in ascending order, but with a catch: each card must be placed in the row whose last number is the largest, yet still smaller than the card played. Sounds easy, right? But the tension builds when the sixth card is added to a row. The player who placed it is forced to collect the previous five cards from that row, and the sixth card becomes the new first card of the row. And guess what? Each card has a point value, and you don't want to collect too many of them! After ten rounds, scores are tallied. The game ends when a player reaches a score limit (which can vary between editions, like 74 or 66 points). The player with the fewest points at the end wins. Take 5 is super versatile, working well with 2 to 10 players, and the dynamics change significantly depending on how many friends are at the table. There's even a cool variant that adjusts the number of cards in play according to the number of players, allowing for a deeper analysis of which cards might still appear, which can help you make more strategic decisions. It's a fast, addictive game perfect for any occasion!
