Alcatraz: The Scapegoat is the game that puts friendship to the test: you have to work together with others to escape the famous Alcatraz prison, while knowing that one of you will be left behind as the scapegoat. The game is a blend of cooperation and internal competition: while everyone needs to complete six pickup‑and‑deliver missions scattered across the modular board, each round a vote decides who will be the culprit. The board is randomly generated each game, adding layout variation and replayability. Players use action points to move on a grid, pick up items, and deliver them to the correct locations; those who become indispensable gain advantage, while those who do nothing end up on the voting list. The pick‑up‑and‑deliver mechanic gives a dynamic pace, and the voting creates constant tension, because nobody wants to be the last one to escape. The game is ideal for 3‑4 players, lasts about 60 minutes, and requires a medium‑to‑high level of strategy and negotiation. It is recommended for those who enjoy bluffing, trading, and decisions that affect everyone, but it can be heavy for those who prefer fully cooperative or simpler rule sets. In short, Alcatraz is an intense social experience where loyalty is as scarce as the chance to escape the prison.
