Get ready for a mind-bending journey to the 26th century in Anachrony! Earth is in ruins, slowly recovering from a catastrophic explosion that wiped out most of the population and rendered much of the surface uninhabitable. But humanity isn't giving up easily! Survivors have organized into four distinct ideologies – Harmony, Dominance, Progress, and Salvation – each with their own vision for rebuilding the world. They live in a fragile peace, isolated, with the Capital as their only meeting point. The game's big twist? Mysterious Time Rifts! By powering them up, each Path can send resources back to its past self, accelerating progress. But beware, meddling with time has its consequences! And time is of the essence, because an asteroid laden with Neutronium is headed for Earth, and its energy signature eerily matches that of the original explosion. Anachrony shines with a unique two-tiered worker placement system. To travel to the Capital or venture into devastated areas for resources, you'll need not only various specialists (Engineers, Scientists, Administrators, and Geniuses) but also powerful Exosuits to protect and enhance them – and both are in short supply. The game plays out in 4-7 turns, depending on when the looming cataclysm occurs (unless, of course, you manage to avert it!). The dynamic timeline is crucial, allowing you to manipulate the past to secure your future. Each Path has a vastly different objective that rewards a massive amount of victory points when achieved. The current Capital will be destroyed, and whichever Path collects the most victory points will become the new dominant force on the planet. It’s an epic challenge of strategy, time management, and resource allocation, with a sci-fi theme that will keep you hooked from start to finish!

Is Anachrony a complex game? Who is it recommended for?
Yes, Anachrony is considered a highly complex game (BGG weight of 3.9975/5). It is recommended for experienced players who enjoy heavy euros, with lots of strategy, resource management, and long-term planning. If you like challenges and don't mind an initial learning curve, you'll love it!
How many players can play Anachrony and what is the average game time?
Anachrony can be played by 1 to 4 players. Game time varies greatly, but usually ranges between 30 and 120 minutes. For 4 players, expect something closer to 2 hours, especially the first few times.
What makes Anachrony's worker placement mechanic different?
The big twist is the two-tiered system: you not only need specialists (engineers, scientists, etc.), but also Exosuits to activate them and send them to actions. Additionally, the 'time travel' mechanic allows you to take resources from the future, but with a cost that will come back to haunt you later!
Is it possible to play Anachrony solo?
Yes! Anachrony offers a robust and challenging solo mode, where you compete against an automated system. It's a great option to practice strategies or simply enjoy the game when other players are not available.
What are the main objectives in the game?
Your main goal is to accumulate the most victory points by the end of the game. This is done by managing resources, activating actions with your workers and Exosuits, fulfilling specific objectives of your Path, and preparing for the asteroid impact, which can change the Capital's landscape.
Does Anachrony have a lot of player interaction?
Interaction is primarily indirect, through competition for action spaces and resources, which is common in worker placement games. There is no direct combat, but one player's decisions can significantly impact others' options, especially regarding the scarcity of Exosuits and resources.
Are the game components of good quality?
Anachrony is known for its high-quality components, including detailed Exosuit miniatures, immersive art, and durable materials. Production quality is one of the game's strengths, contributing to the thematic experience.
