Picture a far-flung future where humanity has vanished from Earth. No one knows why, but the void they left behind was filled by an unlikely species: bees! Yes, the humble honeybees evolved over eons to become the Mellifera civilization, giant, super-intelligent creatures who not only mastered abandoned human technology but also developed their own, including space travel!
In Apiary, you take control of one of twenty unique Mellifera factions, each with its own quirks. Your goal? To build the most prosperous hive and demonstrate your faction's strength over a year of 'Flow.' Using the classic worker-placement mechanic, you'll explore distant planets, gather precious resources, develop cutting-edge technologies, and craft incredible carvings to accumulate victory points.
But make no mistake, the life of a space bee isn't all honey! The 'Dearth' is fast approaching, and your workers have a limited number of actions before they must hibernate. Every decision counts, as efficiency is key to survival and prosperity. Will your faction flourish or merely survive another cycle? Prepare for a strategic challenge that blends space exploration, empire building, and the unexpected charm of giant bees!
