In SETI: Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence, you take on the role of a leader of an ambitious scientific institution, tasked with uncovering the secrets of life beyond Earth. Inspired by real space technologies and initiatives, this eurogame for 1 to 4 players invites you on a cosmic journey divided into five intense rounds.
Your adventure begins by launching probes from Earth to explore nearby planets and their moons. Keeping track of ever-shifting planetary positions, you'll need to decide whether to land to collect valuable samples or stay in orbit for a broader survey. But the search doesn't stop there! Direct your telescopes to distant star systems, hoping to pick up alien signals or discover uncharted exoplanets, gathering crucial data for analysis back at your Earth base.
Back on Earth, investment in research and development is key. Upgrade your equipment to process data more efficiently, boost your telescope signal capacity, or increase your resource supply. Each improvement expands the scope of your search and brings you closer to the long-awaited discovery of extraterrestrial life. With over 200 cards, each with unique effects and illustrations based on real-life technologies and projects (like the ISS and the Perseverance rover), you'll have a strategic arsenal to focus your research and gain valuable bonuses. Utilize your resources intelligently, and who knows, you might be the scientist to make the greatest contribution to humanity's understanding of alien life in our galaxy!
