In *Archaeology: The New Expedition*, you step into the shoes of a fearless archaeologist, exploring the sands of the Egyptian desert in search of invaluable treasures. This game is an enhanced version of the classic *Archaeology: The Card Game*, bringing exciting new features that make the experience even more thrilling. Your goal is simple: unearth artifacts, cleverly trade them at the local marketplace, and sell them to the museum at just the right time to maximize your profits and become the wealthiest archaeologist!
Each turn, the thrill of the dig awaits. You draw a card from the deck and might find a treasure for your collection, a thief who will try to steal from an opponent, or even a dreaded sandstorm that can make everyone lose half their hand to the marketplace (but don't worry, you have tents to protect yourself!). After digging, you have several options: you can use maps to explore one of the monument's chambers, revealing and taking valuable cards; trade at the marketplace, exchanging unwanted cards for more useful ones; or sell your sets of treasures to the museum, where the more pieces of the same type you have, the greater the payout. The game continues until the dig deck runs out, and then players sell their final treasures. Whoever has the most money at the end claims victory!
This new expedition brings several significant improvements over the previous version, such as the inclusion of tent cards to mitigate sandstorm effects, new treasure types, additional cards to allow for up to five players, adjustments to some artifact values, and the addition of six different monuments to explore, ensuring greater variety in each game. Get ready for an adventure full of discoveries, risks, and plenty of strategy!
