Axis & Allies: D-Day recreates the largest amphibious invasion in history with detailed components, including a new blockhouse piece and an extra-large game board, all featuring original artwork commissioned specifically for the game. Gameplay is enhanced by a card deck with three types: Orders, Tactics, and Fortune. Order cards dictate the game's sequence, breaking turns into distinct phases. Tactics cards offer varied strategic opportunities, while Fortune cards add that touch of unpredictability every good wargame needs. The objective is straightforward: the Allies (United Kingdom, Canada, and USA) attempt to breach the German defenses in "Fortress Europe," while one player controls Germany, defending its fortified positions.
