About the game
What you do in a play session
Axis Empires: Totaler Krieg! is an epic wargame recreating World War II in Europe, from Norway's fjords to North Africa's deserts, from Moscow's gates to Normandy's beaches. With campaign/battle card-driven mechanics, dice rolling, and a hex grid, the game offers a deep, decision-rich experience. You can explore alternate scenarios, like if the Republicans won the Spanish Civil War or if France modernized its army. The game progresses from pre-war (diplomacy/mobilization) to limited war and finally total war, where anything goes for victory. Includes two massive maps, 800+ counters, 200 cards, and rule/scenario books. Can be combined with Axis Empires: Dai Senso! for a global WWII experience. Get ready for hours of strategy, unpredictability, and living history!

1 to 3 (best with 2). Has rules for solo and cooperation in certain scenarios.
What’s the average playtime?

Does it need translation to play?
Yes, nearly all components are English-only. Worth translating cards and tables.
Is it good for wargame beginners?
No. The 4.3 BGG weight indicates high complexity. Better start with something lighter.
Does it need a lot of space?
The two maps combined measure 44x34 inches (~1.1x0.85m). Better have a big table.
Does it work well solo?
Yes, but it shines with a human opponent. Has solid solo systems though.
