About the game
What you do in a play session
Get ready to return to the Neververse with Battlecrest: Deadrock! This is the third year's base set, and the vibe here is pure survival. Forget peaceful landscapes; Deadrock is a desolate rocky desert where only the most brutal fighters can survive. If you enjoy tactical combat where every single move counts, this is the game for you.
The heart of the game is a card-based tactical skirmish for two players. The dynamics are intriguing: you control heroes composed of 6-card sets, including their health tracker and action cards. The map is also modular, consisting of 6 landmark cards that change every match. The biggest challenge in Deadrock are the twin storms at the center of the map—if you're careless and get caught in their path, you might be taken down before even touching your opponent.
What makes the experience addictive is the hand management. As you use your action cards, new possibilities open up and you empower your 'battlecrests,' setting the stage for decisive strikes or refocusing to regain your powers. Since every hero has their own unique set of actions and preferred tactics, no two battles ever play the same.
The game provides perfect information, meaning victory doesn't depend on luck, but on who can better read the situation and outsmart their adversary. In this version, you get the heroes Cirrus and Noster. For those who enjoy solo gaming, both come with AI sheets, but keep in mind: for solo play to work, you'll need the Imperator expansion. It's a fast, lethal, and extremely strategic game, perfect for those who want the depth of a wargame in a compact and agile format.
