Battleship Galaxies is an exciting space combat experience that takes the classic Battleship game into outer space. Here, you command a fleet of detailed miniatures representing either the human Intergalactic Space Navy or the alien Wretcheridians. Each ship has unique abilities, defined on reference cards, including weapons, shields, and movement capabilities. The game is scenario-driven, with each scenario offering specific objectives and different initial setups. During your turn, you spend energy points to move your ships, attack enemies, or perform other actions. Combat is resolved by rolling special dice: a d10 with letters and a d8 with numbers. The resulting combination is compared to the target ship’s card to determine whether it’s a critical hit, a failure, or something in between. Damage is marked with colored pegs on the miniature bases, adding a visual touch to the confrontation. With mechanics like action points, area movement, and variable player powers, Battleship Galaxies offers a mix of strategy and luck that will appeal to both war game fans and science fiction enthusiasts.
