In Beast, you venture into the mysterious Northern Expanse, a place where wild and dangerous nature lurks. When humans first arrived, they saw a paradise, but soon nature itself reacted to the expansion of settlements. Great and mystical creatures, the Beasts, emerged to defend their territory. To combat them, specialized hunters are summoned, with the dangerous mission of tracking and taking down these beasts before more lives are lost.

The Beast moves stealthily, using direction cards to camouflage itself in forests, swamps, and caves, making its trail difficult for hunters to follow. A clue only appears when a hunter steps on a location the Beast has passed through, or when the Beast itself reveals its position by attacking. Each hunter has only one chance to investigate a location per round, making each decision a tense dilemma. Does the trail lead to the Beast, or has it gone cold?

Every action—moving, attacking, or investigating—is performed by playing a card from your hand, with a limit of two cards per turn. Before each round, hunters and the Beast participate in a draft to choose the most crucial cards, which can be used by both sides. To win as a hunter, cooperation and communication are essential; alone, they are vulnerable. As the Beast, cunning and the ability to deceive opponents are your greatest weapons. Only with strategy and teamwork can the hunters succeed against the Beast's might.
