About the game
Welcome to 1922 Texas, where the oil boom is in full swing! In Black Gold, you and up to four other prospectors dive into the race to explore the Permian Basin and become the wealthiest tycoon in the region. Whether you're an heir from an oil family with dynastic ambitions or a shrewd northerner wanting your slice of the pie, the competition is fierce.

The goal is simple: accumulate more money than everyone else before the Oil Baron's train reaches the end of the line. To achieve this, you'll explore the modular board, assembled with double-sided tiles that ensure a different experience each game. Upon finding a good spot, it's time to set up your drilling rig and start extracting the precious black gold.

But extracting isn't enough; you need to sell wisely! Transport your oil to one of the three companies and participate in auctions to get the best price. And this is where things get interesting: during auctions, you can try to deceive your opponents, lying about the value of your licenses to make them spend more. Just be careful not to get caught, or the penalty will come! Black Gold combines strategy, exploration, and a lot of speculation, with special actions that can turn the game around at any moment.

The game is easy to learn but offers deep decisions each round. The choice of action cards at the start of each turn can change everything. Furthermore, there are optional rules to adjust the game length, difficulty, or even the randomness of well distribution, making each game a new adventure in the arid and competitive world of Texan oil.
