Each card has specific Tincture or Device requirements to be played, and you must discard other cards from your hand whose combined Prestige Value equals or exceeds that of the card you wish to place. Managing your hand of cards is crucial for optimizing your plays and ensuring you have the right elements at the right time.

Beyond scoring with the cards themselves, you can earn bonus Prestige by achieving special Distinctions, awarded for meeting certain objectives or patterns on your shield.
