About the game
What you do in a play session
Bumúntú is a lightweight strategy game that immerses you in the culture and folklore of the Bakongo tribes, descendants of the ancient Kingdom of Kongo. In Central Africa, animals are seen as wise beings who guide humans toward goodness and morality. As a tribal leader, you will follow the teachings of these animals, exploring the jungle to win their favor. The board is filled with African animals, each with unique movement abilities. You can choose to move normally or follow an animal's wisdom, earning its favor and collecting chips. Some animals make movement easier, while others can influence opponents, adding depth to this seemingly simple game. As the game progresses, fewer animals remain, making each decision more crucial. When all advancement chips are collected, animals grant different amounts of favor based on their position on the favor leaderboard, which players can influence throughout the game. Bonuses are awarded for collecting Nkisi (small statues) and Yowa (spiritual symbols). In the end, the leader with the most favor wins!
