About the game

What you do in a play session

If you love the classic Carcassonne but want something that fits in your bag and is much faster, get ready for Cardcassonne! Here, the joy of building a medieval map has been distilled into a super dynamic card game format. The goal is the same one you already know: expand roads, cities, fields, and abbeys to ensure the highest possible score. But heads up, the strategy here is a bit sharper. Instead of wooden pieces, you deal with rows of cards that need to be completed. You can place a card in a row to increase its value, but the big dilemma is the timing: when should you use your only meeple to claim that sequence and secure the points? If you wait too long to score, another player might swoop in and steal your glory! The game takes place in rounds, and the number of cards varies based on the number of players, ensuring the entire deck gets used. Scoring is quite a spectacle: people cards add values based on the number of people; animal cards depend on a reference card; and building cards focus on color sets. There are even special dragon or fairy cards that give a 10-point boost! It's a game of quick decisions and constant attention to what your neighbors are doing. If you enjoy card games that mix luck with a healthy dose of 'don't let your opponent win,' this is the one for you!
