About the game

What you do in a play session

Get ready for a dose of pure action with City of Fury! This game throws you into the gritty streets of a broken city, teeming with thugs, corrupt cops, and rogue cyborgs. Your mission? Clean up the streets, of course! A solo homage to classic beat 'em ups like Streets of Rage and Double Dragon, this 9-card game is a blast from the past. You'll step into the shoes of a vigilante, patrolling the streets and itching for a fight as the screen scrolls ever rightward, revealing new challenges. The ultimate goal is to defeat the menacing Boss Man and his criminal cronies. Setup is quick and dirty: five street cards form the battlefield, with the Boss lurking at the far right. Your initial enemies appear, and you start on the leftmost street, ready to rumble. Your Skills card is your arsenal, featuring Punch, Kick, Shoot, and Dodge abilities, each with charge levels that determine their power. On your turn, you activate a skill, reduce its charge, and then boost the charge of two others. Actions include movement, close-quarters combat, ranged attacks, and even healing. Enemies boast unique AI behaviors, forcing you to adapt your tactics on the fly. Defeating an enemy triggers a screen scroll, bringing new threats into play. To win, you must face and conquer the Boss Man. It's a fast-paced game with variable setup, ensuring every playthrough offers a fresh challenge.
