Imagine you are a royal architect in Ancient Egypt with one primary mission: please the most powerful queen of the era, Cleopatra. In Cleopatra and the Society of Architects, the goal is straightforward on paper but tense in practice: construct the most luxurious parts of the queen's palace to gain wealth and fame. The highlight here is the 3D palace that grows on the table as the game progresses, turning the session into a visual spectacle. However, be warned: haste is the enemy of perfection (and survival). To build faster and stay ahead of your rivals, you might be tempted to use materials of dubious origin. The catch? This brings corruption, represented by amulets of the crocodile-god Sobek. If you are caught with too many of these amulets when the queen finally arrives for the inauguration, the consequences are drastic: you could lose all your riches or, worse, become crocodile feed! The winner will be the wealthiest architect who manages to survive the final judgment. This Deluxe Edition features a stunning visual overhaul by Miguel Coimbra, with renewed artwork and an even more imposing 3D palace. Beyond the looks, designers Bruno Cathala and Ludovic Maublanc polished the rules to make the gameplay flow more smoothly. Resource card combinations for building have been reworked, rewards have been recalculated, and character management is now handled separately from the main deck, eliminating the clutter of shuffling everything together. The player count has also been adjusted to 2-4 players, ensuring that the competitive dynamics and the tension of corruption work perfectly for any group. It is the ideal game for those who want strategic depth combined with high table presence and a bit of thematic risk.

Is the game too complex?
It has a medium weight (2.2 on BGG). It's not a heavy 'euro', but it requires careful hand planning and knowing when to risk corruption.
Is the 3D palace just for decoration?
Not at all! It's central to the experience, as pieces are slotted into it as you build, giving a real sense of construction progress.
Does it work well with only 2 players?
Yes, the Deluxe edition adjusted the count to 2-4 players, making the direct competition very strategic.
How long does a game take?
Usually around 60 minutes, which is great for those who want depth without spending hours at the table.
Who would you recommend this game to?
Anyone who enjoys city building, Egyptian themes, and games where resource management and 'temptation' are part of the strategy.
