About the game
What you do in a play session
In Community Cats, you become a whiskered hero: a stray cat rescuer trying to manage an ever-growing colony. This solo game realistically simulates TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) practices through mechanics that demand careful planning and tough choices. You get 10 rounds of 5 actions each to buy equipment, trap cats, and take them to the clinic – all with limited resources forcing painful trade-offs. Each colony on the board starts with two cat cubes, and if you don't act fast, the population explodes! Dice rolls (one per trap you own) determine how many kitties you rescue, while event cards provide boosts like volunteers or extra credit. Victory? Only when all colonies are stabilized. Defeat? If cubes run out or the wandering cat track fills up. A game blending tactical challenge with pet owner heart.

Quick answers before you buy

No, it's solo-only. The single-player experience is core to the challenge!
How long does a game take?
45-60 minutes – enough time to feel like a real cat rescuer.
Is it very complex?
Medium – rules are straightforward, but optimizing limited resources requires strategy.
Do you need to like cats to enjoy it?
The theme helps, but the solid mechanics stand on their own. Warning: may convert you into a cat person!
Any special components?
Cubes represent cats, and event cards bring surprises. No miniatures, but materials are thematic.
