About the game
Cribbage is a classic card game that emerged in the 17th century, with roots in the older game Noddy. It stands out for using a standard deck of cards and a special 'cribbage board' for scoring with pegs. While variations exist for up to four players, Cribbage is traditionally played by two. A round begins with each player receiving six cards and choosing two to discard into a secret pile, the 'Crib'. A card is then revealed from the deck and enters play, counting for both players' hands and the Crib. Players take turns, playing one card at a time and scoring points for hitting specific sums, forming sequences, or sets. Scores are updated on the board by moving the pegs. This process continues until everyone has played their cards. Afterwards, each player calculates the point combinations in their remaining hand, scoring them on the board. The dealer then reveals the Crib and scores its combinations. The cards are shuffled, and the deal passes to the next player. The first to reach 121 points or more is the grand winner. It's a game that blends luck and strategy, with a touch of math for those who enjoy counting!
