About the game

What you do in a play session

Cricket: The Game captures the feel of cricket on the tabletop, supporting 2 to 4 players in sessions that run 90 to 120 minutes. The components include a detailed board, Over cards, run tokens, and two dice that bring deliveries and strokes to life. Each team experiences two phases – Bowling and Batting – just like a real match. The bowler starts by secretly choosing a bowl type; the batter then marks on the field the stroke they intend to play before the bowl type is revealed. A rolling advantage is then calculated, which may favor either the bowler or the batter. Next, an Over Deck card is drawn, adding bonuses or penalties that can shift the momentum. Both sides roll dice to determine the strength of the delivery and the stroke, resulting in a hit, miss, or block. If the ball is hit, the batter rolls again to decide the distance and bounce of the ball on the field, simulating runs and possible deflections. The ultimate goal follows the sport’s rule: the team with the most runs or the one that bowls out the opponent first wins. Action Points limit how many decisions each player can make per turn, while Dice Rolling injects just the right amount of randomness, making every delivery unique. The game balances strategy and luck, offering a light weight (2/5) that’s easy for newcomers yet deep enough for board‑game fans who enjoy sports simulations.
