About the game

What you do in a play session

Alright, fellow cryptozoologist! You've analyzed the footage, connected the dots, and gathered what meager evidence you could on a mysterious creature. The truth behind the Cryptid is almost out, and the world is waiting! A group of like-minded researchers has come together to finally uncover this elusive beast, but the glory of discovery is too rich to share, isn't it? In Cryptid, you're in a race against time and your colleagues. Each player holds a crucial piece of the puzzle, a clue pointing to the creature's hiding spot. The trick is you need to extract information from others without revealing too much of your own. It's a super clever deduction game where the honesty of your answers is essential, but how you ask questions and use information is what leads you to victory. On your turn, you can try to glean more details from your opponents, but be warned: give too much away, and they might beat you to the mysterious animal and claim all the glory for themselves! The game includes a modular board that ensures every game is unique, five clue books, and a deck of setup cards with hundreds of possible configurations across two difficulty levels. Plus, if you want even more convenience, there's an entirely optional digital companion that allows for faster game setup and a nearly infinite range of puzzles. Get ready for an exciting hunt where your mind is your best weapon!
