About the game

What you do in a play session

If you're a fan of '6 nimmt!' (Take 6!), get ready to see that mechanic get a fun visual and thematic upgrade. Dance of Ibexes is a board version celebrating the classic's 10th anniversary, swapping cards for animal tiles that you must place with extreme care. The goal is simple but the execution is controlled chaos: you want to place your animals (ibexes or cows) on the board, but if they land on a penalty space or at the end of a row, you're in trouble!

The gameplay is fast and simultaneous. Each player selects a tile, and everyone reveals them at once. The golden rule is numerical order: tiles are placed from lowest to highest, always trying to find the space that minimizes the difference between the current number and the last tile in that row. If you're the unlucky one who places a tile at the end of a row, get ready for the 'cleanup': you must remove the tiles from that row, choose a few to keep, and the rest goes to the discard pile.

There's a constant element of risk. You can buy new tiles to refresh your hand, but it costs you points. Additionally, there are special spaces on the board: some grant points (like a gift!), while others are 'cowpies' or penalty spaces that push you back on the score track. It's a game of hand management and risk, where the ultimate goal is to have the lowest score possible when the game ends. It's perfect for those looking for a quick session, high interaction, and that touch of luck that we love (or hate) in family games!
