About the game
What you do in a play session
Imagine you are one of the realm's most badass heroes, and the King has just summoned you for the most desperate mission of your life. Monarch City is under siege! Orcs, Dragons, Demons, and the Undead are converging from all directions, tainting the land and marching relentlessly toward the city gates. If any of these factions manage to enter, it's game over.
In Defenders of the Realm, you and your allies (1 to 4 players) must coordinate to defend the countryside, cleanse the corrupted lands, and, of course, crush the enemy generals. You can choose from classic classes like the Wizard, Paladin, Rogue, or even an Eagle Rider. Each character brings unique abilities to the table, making cooperation absolutely essential. Trying to be a lone wolf won't work; the strategy here is to divide tasks and use hand management and action points with surgical precision.
But don't think victory is a walk in the park. The game features a brutal system: every time you take down an Enemy General, the remaining dark forces grow stronger, and their march toward the city accelerates. It's a constant tension of 'will we make it before the next turn?'. With dice rolling to resolve combat and a map that requires careful movement planning, every session becomes a race against time. If you survive and clear the threat, the bravest hero will be crowned the King's Champion. Do you have the strategy and luck needed to save Monarch City, or will you watch the city fall while arguing over who should have moved left?
