About the game

What you do in a play session

You know that feeling when you have a dream so vivid you don't want to wake up? Well, in Eldritch Horror: The Dreamlands, that desire might be your downfall. This expansion takes investigators beyond the physical world, diving into the ethereal and surreal realm of dreams. Forget the grey streets of Arkham; now you'll explore the Enchanted Wood, descend into the Underworld, and even sail to the Moon.

The highlight here is the new side board representing the Dreamlands. The game creates a fascinating dynamic where the dream world begins to leak into our waking reality, forcing players to transition between these two planes to solve mysteries and face dangers. To help in this psychedelic journey, the expansion introduces eight new investigators, each with unique abilities essential for surviving the chaos.

But don't think it's a peaceful stroll. You'll have to face two terrifying new Ancient Ones: Altach-Nacha the Dreamweaver and Hypnos, the Lord of Sleep. They aren't playing around and will test your group's sanity to the limit. To fight them, you'll have access to a mountain of new content: new spells, assets, conditions, and Myth cards that make the experience much richer and more varied. If you already enjoy the base game, this expansion adds layers of depth and exploration that turn the campaign into something truly epic. Get ready to face cosmic nightmares where the line between what is real and what is a dream becomes dangerously thin.

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers before you buy

5 questions
Do I need the base game to play?
Yes! This is an expansion, so you need Eldritch Horror to use all this content.
Does it make the game much more complex?
Complexity increases slightly due to the new board and world-transition rules, but nothing a base game fan can't master quickly.
How many players can participate?
The game supports 1 to 8 players, but keep in mind that more players significantly increase the game time.
How long does a game last?
Be prepared for long sessions, usually between 2 to 4 hours, depending on luck and player count.
Is it worth it for solo play?
Absolutely. The game works well solo, and the expansion adds new challenges that make the solitary experience even richer.
