In Endless Winter: Paleoamericans, we're transported to North America around 10,000 BCE, where prehistoric tribes strive to prosper and leave their mark. You take on the role of a tribal leader, guiding your people through generations, transforming them from nomadic hunter-gatherers into complex societies. The journey involves migrating to new lands, establishing cultural traditions, hunting the imposing megafauna of the ice age, and erecting megalithic structures that will withstand the test of time.
This mid-to-heavy eurogame cleverly combines worker placement with deck building. Each round, you send your tribe members to strategic action spaces, paying costs with cards and resources. Tribe cards provide additional labor, while Culture cards offer a range of unique effects to boost your strategy. But the decision-making doesn't stop there: you can save some cards for the Eclipse phase at the end of the round. Revealed simultaneously, these cards not only determine the new turn order but also activate powerful bonus actions.
Endless Winter is a melting pot of interwoven systems: multi-use cards, area influence, tile placement, and set collection intertwine to create a rich and strategic experience. With multiple paths to victory, each game is a fresh challenge. After four intense rounds, scores are tallied, and the tribe with the highest score is crowned the most successful of the Stone Age!
