About the game
In Viscounts of the West Kingdom, we are transported to 980 AD, a time of instability where the king's reign is in decline. He has chosen peace, offering gold and land to enemies, but this peace is fragile and poverty spreads, eroding trust in the monarch. As viscounts, our future is uncertain, and we must be shrewd. While loyalty to the crown is important, gaining the favor of the people is the top priority, as a shift in power may be imminent.

The main goal is to accumulate the most victory points by the end of the game. You can achieve this by constructing impressive buildings, writing valuable manuscripts, working in the royal castle, and acquiring new land deeds. You start with a modest group of townsfolk, but the key is to recruit more suitable talents to advance your endeavors. Each turn, you will travel around the kingdom, seeking to increase your influence in various spheres of society. The game concludes when the kingdom reaches a state of poverty or prosperity — or, who knows, perhaps both simultaneously! Prepare to make strategic decisions and shape the destiny of your viscounty.
