About the game
Step into the shoes of a vassal serving Frederick II, the legendary 'Stupor Mundi' (the wonder of the world). In this deep strategic experience, you must balance your loyalty to the Emperor with the ambition of strengthening your own domain. The game is an exercise in efficiency and strategy: you will recruit allies from across the Mediterranean, promote specialists, and expand your castle to better manage your resources and action cards.

The heart of the game lies in your castle's development. Building towers allows you to house more allies, walls increase your resource storage, and the keep helps you organize your action cards more effectively. However, it's not just about building; a clever card-selection mechanism means every choice can trigger imperial edicts that shift the dynamics of Frederick's palace and determine who receives the best rewards.

Will you play it safe as the perfect vassal, or will you conspire with independent allies to gain ground? The tension between cooperation and betrayal is constant, and keeping a close eye on your opponents' moves is essential to avoid being blindsided.

The Master Print edition takes the experience to the next level. Depending on the chosen edition (Vassal, Baron, or Count), you'll get components ranging from customized wood to PVC miniatures with Sundrop highlighting. Additionally, this edition includes the Miracula expansion (with its two modules), dual-layer player boards to prevent pieces from sliding, and a Black Magic Inserts organizer so you don't waste time sorting hundreds of pieces before starting. It is the definitive version for those who love deep Eurogames with high interactivity and a rich historical theme.
