In Era of Tribes, you are a clan chief at the dawn of the Neolithic period in Europe, with the ambition to transform your small tribe into a vast empire. This civilization strategy game for 1 to 4 players, aged 14+, challenges you to develop, expand, and interact in a setting that spans from the Neolithic to the High Middle Ages. Prepare for an epic journey where survival and ascension depend on your cunning!
To achieve your goal of becoming the supreme ruler, you must strengthen your dynasty, equip superior armies, and conquer territories to obtain resources and luxury goods. Diplomacy and scientific advancements are crucial for success. The game combines the best of 'Ameritrash' and 'Eurogame' worlds, creating an experience the designer affectionately dubbed 'Eumerithrash'.
Your main objective is to accumulate the most Influence Points (IP) by the end of the game. To do this, you'll deploy your leaders on a tribal action board, where each chamber offers unique opportunities: the 'Expansion' chamber allows you to spread your vassals, found cities, and resolve conflicts; 'Trade' increases your wealth; 'Taxes' lets you levy tributes; 'Diplomacy' for negotiations and changing turn order; 'Improvement' to discover new technologies; 'Bread & Circuses' to boost population morale; and 'Revolution' to advance to the next epoch. Secret influence cards and other game aspects also contribute to your final score. With ten unique tribes and various end-game conditions, Era of Tribes offers games ranging from 30 to 60 minutes per player, ensuring a deep and engaging strategic experience.
