About the game
What you do in a play session
In Fallen Frontiers, you lead a faction in an intergalactic war for resources and dominance. The game blends deep strategy with customization: you build your army by choosing characters, troops, and cards that define your playstyle. Combat squads are the heart of the action – they protect your leaders, who are fragile but crucial, as their abilities modify how units behave. Strategy starts before the first move, with the secret assembly of your deck, keeping your opponents in the dark about your tactics. Two resources are vital: Morale, earned by completing objectives and inflicting casualties, and Krithium, an energy that powers up your weapons and cards. Beware: using Morale grants power but can exhaust your troops. With detailed miniatures and mechanics mixing deck-building, area control, and dice rolling, Fallen Frontiers is a space wargame that rewards planning and adaptation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers before you buy
Best player count?
Ideal with 2 (direct conflict) or 4 (temporary alliances), but works well at all counts.
Need to paint miniatures?
No, they come pre-molded in faction colors, but painting adds visual flair.
Average playtime?
60-90 minutes once rules are mastered. First game may take up to 2 hours.
Is it too complex?
BGG weight 3/5. Multiple layers (deck-building, resources, combat), but worth it for genre fans.
Expansions necessary?
Base game has tons of variety, but expansions add extra factions and cards.
How's the theme?
Hardcore military sci-fi – think Warhammer 40K with more modern mechanics.
Who should avoid it?
Those who prefer quick games or zero luck (dice influence combat).
