About the game
What you do in a play session
The *Abandoned Abbey* expansion takes the already delightful *Fantastiqa* to new heights of adventure and risk. Here, you and your friends will explore a treasure-filled — and dangerous — abandoned abbey. The game keeps the core mechanics (deck-building, hand management, and strategic movement) but adds a new Abbey deck that acts as a special quest. The key gameplay is a delicious push-your-luck element: you can stop anytime with your loot or keep exploring for more, but if you fail, you lose EVERYTHING from that attempt. Abbey cards count toward victory in different ways, allowing multiple strategies — focus on traditional quest points or chase abbey artifacts. The art remains gorgeous, and the tension of each decision will keep the whole group engaged. Pro tip: don’t underestimate the 7-card limit per player — greed could be your downfall!
