About the game

What you do in a play session

Remember when texting was an art form and you had to press the same button multiple times to type a letter? Fat Thumbs brings that nostalgia to the table, turning those old numeric keypads into a hilarious word game. On your turn, you'll play a number card (those buttons with 3-4 letters like ABC or DEF) to build a sequence. The challenge? Coming up with words that use one letter from each card in order, just like the pre-smartphone era. Stuck? Play a Fat Thumb card (those clumsy oversized digits) to alter the sequence! And if you think someone's bluffing, call them out to earn battery points. A fast-paced, laugh-out-loud game that'll have everyone reminiscing (and suffering) about the days when 'cell phone' meant 'infinite patience'.

Best with 3-4. At 2 it's more strategic, at 5 it's delightfully chaotic.
Kid-friendly?
Ages 10+ if they have strong vocabulary. Teens will love the 'old phone' theme.
Can we adjust difficulty?
Yes! Allow shorter words or give more Fat Thumbs early to make it easier.
How long does a game take?
The 15-minute estimate is spot-on - perfect filler between heavier games.
Need paper/pencil?
Nope! Everything's handled with the included cards and battery tokens.
Are proper nouns allowed?
House rules apply - normally dictionary words only, but you make the call!
